Amelia's Toddler Bedroom

When we moved into our new home in September, I wanted to get Amelia's room completed first. It did get done to an extent as I had bought all the new furniture, we didn't need to decorate as I wanted to keep it neutral and all we needed to buy was her toddler bed. For months it stayed the same and I had other things to be getting along with so it was put on hold. Not long after Christmas I decided to get Amelia into her toddler bed and took down her cot! Finally it meant I could get the room the way I had always wanted.

You may have seen some previous photo's here which is how her room has been since around November now but I recently had the urge to move it all around. I will list a few of the items at the bottom incase you were wondering where they were from.

This is the view as you look into the room from the door, it's a decent sized room as it's a double so big enough for a toddler and all her toys! I thought her chest of drawers and wardrobe looked better on this side rather than the opposite side and hung up her new photo from Alphabino which is gorgeous and ties in well with her room. There's also more room for the chair on this side too as it needs to be next to the bed as its where I sit to get her to sleep at night.

The top of the wardrobe has become a cuddly toy area and I keep a few other bits I don't want Amelia getting into on top too.

On top of her dresser I keep her birth photo, gro egg, letter A which I need to hang up somewhere, lamp, a box full of headbands and brushes, her babies 1st year frame which I still haven't completed woops and also a bunny trinket.

I moved her bed over to this side of the room as it's closer to the door I can easily sneak in and out without making noise on the creaking floorboards at night, and I can also peek in at night to see if she's sleeping and reset her lullabies on the iPad. I left the 'Amelia' bunting which was previously above her bed on the other wall and left the ABC canvas's which were already on this wall and just hung up the heart bunting instead. She does also have a bed rail which is white and I just attach it at night.

Her bedding is from The Little White Company and wasn't cheap! I think it was £80 just for the duvet bedspread but I fell in love with it and it's the only floral bedding I could find. I love the bed canopy, I knew I wanted to buy one as soon as I thought about decorating her room.

This part of Amelia's room is a complete mess if I'm honest. But I thought i'd use it as a play area and have most of her toys and bits down this end. I'm still waiting to lend a drill from someone so I can finally put up some shelves and complete Amelia's reading corner which will be on the left hand side behind the door. I can't wait to share that with you all when it's done.

What do you think? I'm hoping it will last Amelia a good few years as it's not too babyish and we can alter things as she grows.

  3. I love it! It looks so contemporary and everything goes together so well. You should work in interior design. ;) We're still in a one bedroom flat at the moment but when we move I'd pay you to sort out Dex's room. ;)

  5. Such a sweet room! It's so girlie without being in your face pink! It will be so easy to update as she grows up and wants to put her own mark on it (hopefully not drawing on the walls like my kid does!). Would love to have a girl so I could do something as sweet as this! However, I do love bold colours, as you will see when I share my link, which are great for boys rooms!

You have done a wonderful job with this room. It's also good to see that you haven't put a TV in there.
