A Shabby Chic Bedroom

You may have seen my bedroom update post back in December where I briefly showed you how it was looking then during the transition. Now that Amelia's bedroom is pretty much finished I can concentrate on completing our bedroom....finally! When we moved in we bought a new wardrobe and bed side tables which I love and before Christmas I bought a new bed and super king size mattress which is super comfy and much better than our previous bed. Although I may have bought a really thick mattress as non of our bedding fits it properly so I have to buy super king size sheets. Silly me!

Since then I seem to have got slightly sidetracked and not really done anything to our room. I am wanting to keep it light and airy with shabby chic decor so recently I have been looking for shabby chic decorative items to add finishing touches to the room. I bought the bedside cabinets to replace our oak ones which I absolutely love along with a chest of drawers and a large shabby chic mirror to go on the wall opposite our bed which still needs to be hung up! I just wish I had bought a white wardrobe now as it kind of looks out of place with everything else being white!

Here are a few of the items I've been looking at buying or have bought recently.

What do you think? I will post a room tour once it's all completed!

  1. Hello, just stumbled across your lovely blog.
Your bedroom looks gorgeous. Serene and elegant. I love white as its calming and bright but can feel cold, but the shabby chic bedside units add warmth and charm as they are still in keeping with the colour scheme, but the carvings add depth and style. Likewise, the accessories above are beautiful, the ornate mirror will be a fabulous feature and the other items will make the space feel so welcoming and homely. Can't wait to see the final pics :O)
