New Books And Lazy Days

Another week of being stuck in the house. The weather has been pants up until today and neither of us have been feeling that great this past week so I suppose it's been good to relax in the house. I'm hoping to get out this week otherwise I'll be going crazy! Our car is still in the garage so it make it difficult to get out and about, especially as we want to go out for walks and visit places! I can't wait for summer!

I tend to keep Amelia's colouring stuff out of reach because she is a nightmare for drawing all over the walls so now before lunch time we get out the colouring books, crayons and pencils. She loves sitting down and scribbling away and telling me what she's drawing.

Some new books arrived this week, as you can probably tell the theme of them as valentine's day is less than a month away. I'm still waiting for a few more to arrive and will be putting them on her shelves in her bedroom. I bought them from eBay and Amazon if you were interested.

Amelia's been a bit poorly this week and was even sick in the night a few nights ago, I'm not sure why but plenty of cuddles and boobie milk seem to be doing the trick.

This is about the only thing she will eat right now! She love potato waffles and wotsits. I think I must have the fussiest toddler ever! She just wont eat anything i give her and will refuse to eat it. I can't force it down her so she must be getting enough to eat, it just doesn't seem right that she won't even try new foods!

Feeling a bit more herself on Sunday Amelia had plenty of energy and we had a fun day of playing and snuggling up watching films on the sofa. She's been loving Tinkerbell lately and I think it's been on pretty much back to back all week!! She's obsessed and dances away and squeals as soon as it comes on.

Our new bedside cabinets arrived this week, finally! I love them!!! I have been changing the furniture in our room from brown to white and these were the latest bits I bought. They are from Dunelm Mill and around £60 each but definitely worth it!

Have a great week!

  1. She might try new foods as she gets older, I think most children go through a phase of only eating what they want.
I LOVE those bedside cabinets. You have a really lovely home :) x

  2. Our little ones have a lot in common. My son also has taken an increased interest in coloring up the walls and doors. I can't leave any type of crayon, marker, pen or pencil within his reach. And he's in this picky eater stage. We can only seem to get him to eat chicken, fries and bread.

Love the bedside table! And here's to hoping that the weather clears up for you guys.. It's been cold and rainy here as well.

  4. I wouldn't worry too much. I've noticed with my own kids that they go through fussy phases, and if she's under the weather to boot, poor little mite, she needs what she likes. Love the new bedside cabinets

  5. You have such a lovely home! Good luck with staying in-door, sometimes we go out in the rain - with rain covers and hood of course- just to get some fresh air :-)

  6. I understand complelty! My daughter is 17 months and has suddenly become such a force hell bent on destruction and temper tantrums. I have been venting my frustrations on my blog lately. I agree that is is just "the age" but that knowledge does not help when trying to survive it. I have been thinking that my daughter needs to be challenged more, our same old routine just doesn't cut it anymore. And a bored toddler is a fearsome thing :).

  7. I know this is an old post, but I stumbled upon it and would love to know how you got on with Amelia's eating? Lamb is 16 months and his plates look exactly the same as in that photo! He's never really eaten much, and won't try anything 'grown up'. I managed to get him to eat a cheese and ham toast today, first time he's ever eaten ham! I hate how fussy he is, it's so stressful :( xx

    1. Hi Alex, Amelia is still fussy as ever but does eat a few new foods now. Still won't eat meat apart from chicken nuggets/turkey dinosaurs etc and usually has the same things for dinner all week. She's better with breakfast now as she will eat toast, cereal and is finally eating yogurt again but lunch time is a nightmare as she won't eat much at all and ends up with crisps, biscuits etc lol. Its so stressful isn't it. When did you start Lamb on normal food? I wish i had started Amelia younger, i don't think we started until she was around 12-14 months x
