Days Like This

Days like this I treasure forever, the special moments where nothing else matters. Mother and daughter  bonding time that is. Every day after lunch I let Amelia play in her room for 20 minutes so I can tidy upstairs, it's the only way I can do so otherwise the house will be even more of a tip than it is now. After I was done, I went to play with her for a little while and she was cooking me some dinner in her kitchen then I told her we were going downstairs and opened the safety gate on her door. She grabbed her rag doll, playing cards and a book and toddled through to our room then she grabbed my hand and climbed into bed! Cheeky madam. She sat there for over half an hour playing with the cards putting them all into the packaging and pulling them back out again. I wish I had opened them for her sooner as she seemed fixated on them!

We had a lovely hour or so just relaxing on the bed, reading her book, playing peek a boo under the covers and watching youtube videos on my iPhone. I love moments like this, as they don't happen often she's never really been a cuddly baby and won't sit still for long so when she does it's such a rare occurrence and it's one I wish to remember. I look forward to seeing our relationship develop over the years, mother and daughter pampering evenings, movie nights on the sofa, shopping days out the lot! I always picture us telling each other everything like best friends and I always wonder what her little voice will sound like when she's speaking properly. But for now I will enjoy these special moments as they won't last forever and before I know it she will no longer need her mummy like she does now.

  2. Such sweet moments together. I used to do something similar with my daughter when she was that age and she had great fun emptying and filling the money box that was in our room (just 1 and 2 penny coins), yet it's a great memory. Now she's in year two, I look back on those days with such fondness
