Amelia's Playarea

You will most probably have seen Amelia's play area change over the past couple of weeks whilst I've been adding to it. Her play area is under the stairs, we are lucky as its an open space and not shut off with a door so we originally would just keep all of her toys there hidden out of the way and all of the smaller ones in a wicker log basket. I then thought why not turn it into a play corner and make it look a bit more organised and not look like everything had just been thrown there when guest come over.

I am glad to say it's finally done and we love it!! I had an idea in mind when I thought about making it into a play area and already had a cube unit which was in Amelia's room so I brought that downstairs to see how it would look. I liked it but wanted more storage space so I bought another storage unit with more cubes which you can find here. It was perfect! It all fitted really well under the stairs and Amelia liked being able to select different toys to play with.

I wanted to add a bit of colour to it, even though the toys would do that I decided to buy some storage baskets to store all of the smaller toys and puzzles. So I bought two pink storage baskets from eBay as I already had the floral one. I do need to buy another one of these so there are 4 of them in total and so it doesn't look so odd. On the top we keep crayons, pencils and markers in coloured buckets. I needed to sort these out badly as they used to be kept all around the house and usually Amelia would find them and draw all of the walls so now they are out of reach (just about) and we can get them down when we colour or draw. The crayons are stored in a big plastic jar.

So as you can see it took no time at all to do and I managed to transform an otherwise boring area into a little play corner for Amelia with a pop of colour! I love it! I feel much more organised and Amelia loves to help put her toys away before bed each night and of course pull them all off first thing in the morning!

  18. This type of good usage of living space as well as the shelving are fantastic pertaining to holding a lot of distinct toys and games and also magnificently exhibiting these people at the same time.
