A Relaxing Week

This week has been rather relaxing, we haven't been anywhere exciting done anything new. Hopefully we will have our car back next week and we can get out and enjoy the fresh air. I really do miss our walks in the forest and down by the lake, hopefully we can do more this summer too.

I can't believe how big she looks here! She is growing so quickly and changing all the time. Her hair is uncontrollable still and she won't let me put it up so it ends up looking like this or worse ha ha!

I managed to snap a quick photo of Amelia sat down watching cartoons. She never usually sits still for more than 5 seconds so to find her watching them and sitting down for about 5 minutes was a shock! Over the week she's actually got much better and I've caught her sitting down in her chair a few times too.

I bought Amelia this cute wooden kitchen set from Asda last week which I thought would go nicely with her play kitchen. We also had a little tea party with her dolls the other day and she sat down with these and played.

On wednesday we popped into town to run a few errands and spend our Christmas vouchers, so we decided to grab some lunch in Noodle One. I had the Yakisoba with duck and Amelia ate a lot of my noodles. We love going here for something quick to eat.

You may have already seen our progress on Instagram but I am slowly turning the area under the stairs in the living room into a little play area for Amelia. I bought a new cube storage unit so there's now more space to hold toys. I have also got some canvas boxes on the way to keep all the smaller toys hidden away and on the top I have buckets and jars for her crayons, pencils and markers. It's nearly there so do keep an eye out for a post next week sometime.

When in town the other day I caught a glimpse of these books on offer in Whsmith, there were reduced down from 2 for £10 to £2.49 each so I picked up four of them. I need to experiment more in the kitchen and I really want to start using my slow cooker and baking more cakes so these are perfect for me.

On Saturday Amelia surprised me and fell asleep late afternoon whilst feeding. She hasn't been napping for the past two months so it was kind of nice to have some time to myself in the afternoon. Of course then she wouldn't go to bed at her usual bed time and ended up going to sleep at 10pm!

What have you been doing this week?

  1. Hello I'm Ash, a new follower and an instant fan of your blog!
I love how girly and frilly everything on this blog and in your posts is, I live with two boys so my frilly-ness has limits, boo!
I love your daughters little play area under the stairs, it's so cute! I love the shelving unit, i'm thinking of getting a small on for my little boys bedroom- he has tons of books and nowhere to put them!

  4. I really like that you're making use of under the stair space with a little play area for Amelia - it looks like it is coming along nicely.
Also, I'm missing the walks that we could enjoy when the weather was warmer too. With a little one it's not exactly appropriate to be bundling up to go out to walk in the rain and such.

  5. This is my first time using a storage service and I'd definitely recommend them if you need a place! There were several others in the area, but when I saw the reviews online and made several calls to different companies, I decided to go with them.
