With 2014 quickly approaching I wanted to take this opportunity to look back and reflect on 2013. I can't belive it's New Years Eve. Where has this year gone? It feels like it went by in the blink of an eye! This year has been a fairly good year although we've had our ups and downs it's been generally a good year for us.
We started off the year with some bad weather in January meaning we were snowed in for a bit of it. Andy couldn't get to work as we lived around half an hour away and the majority of the roads weren't drivable. However once the roads were clear we were able to get out and enjoy the snow. Amelia finally got to play in it for the first time which was fun.
Amelia started walking when she turned 10 months in February, she had started to take a couple of steps here and there from around 9 months but this was the month she was off and there was no stopping her! Out came the baby gates, safety plugs and fireguard!
At the end of March after 14 wonderful months on maternity leave I found myself going back to work part time. Although I did enjoy all that time off, I have enjoyed it so far and look forward to possibly going back full time next year.
April 22nd Amelia turned 1! I have no idea how that came around so fast but it did! We threw a 1st birthday party for her and invited family over for the afternoon. I had so much fun preparing for her birthday party which you can read more here. She was very spoilt and I can't wait for her 2nd birthday!
In June I took the plunge and stepped out of my comfort zone by going to London to attend Brit Mums 2013! I had such an amazing time and met lots of lovely people who I consider friends! I even speak to a handful of them everyday!
We had an amazing summer, many trips to the beach, days playing in the park, walks in the woods and picnics in the garden. I enjoyed this summer because I wasn't working full time I was able to enjoy the sun and with Amelia being here it was that extra bit special. We had such a scorching summer, I hope next year brings the same! We also attended a wedding in August this was a first for all of us and neither of us nor Amelia had been to one before.
We moved in September, after months of looking and deciding on a house we could call home we finally found the one. I am pretty fussy when it comes to houses, so after browsing many websites and estate agents we got there in the end. I hope we can live here for a good few years as I definitely don't want to be moving again any time soon!
October 3rd was our 3 year anniversary! I can't believe Andy and I have been together for three whole years! It feels like only yesterday we were working together in the restaurant, not as we are now as a family of three.
At the end of November we went on our 2nd family holiday to the Caribbean! I still need to post about this so keep an eye out for that soon. We had the best time ever and are already planning on where to go next year!
...and that brings us to December! This month has been most enjoyable despite the weather - it was Christmas! This is my favourite time of the year and it's much more fun when you have kids of your own to enjoy it with. December I have seen some of my best blog stats to date, it has been the busiest month in terms of blog competitions and work.
I also wanted to thank each and every one of you for your continue support and readership. Because without you guys this blog would not be where is is today. Even though I started this blog to document Amelia's life and to be able to look back on memories along the way it has become much more than that and I can't believe how much this blog has grown in such a short space of time. I am so thankful to everyone who takes the time to comment on a blog post, message me via Facebook or Twitter, sends me a lovely email and to all the anonymous followers too as it cheers up my day!
I am excited to see what 2014 bring us! Happy New Year everyone!
