This was our second Christmas as a family and the first in our new home. We had such a lovely Christmas this year so I wanted to write about it to look back on. I also love reading other peoples posts like this so if you're one of those people who do too then here are some photo's from our Christmas.
On Christmas eve Amelia received her Christmas Eve Basket... of course she went in for the chocolate first! You can see what was in her basket here. This went down a treat and I can't wait to keep up this tradition every year adding new additions as she gets older. We watched Christmas films all day on Christmas Eve whilst stuffing our faces with chocolate. When Andy got home from work we had a takeaway - why stress out and cook on Christmas Eve! Later we got the rest of the presents down from upstairs once Amelia was in bed and got building her play kitchen which took a few hours to build whilst having a few too many glasses of baileys.
On Christmas morning Amelia woke up around 8am which was usual for her, I had her stocking at the end of our bed so we opened that before going downstairs. Of course at this age Amelia won't remember anything but it's still nice for us to keep up the tradition and make new ones of our own. Also it will be nice to look back on in years to come. You can see what we put in her stocking here.
Once we were downstairs with the heating on we sat down and opened presents. We were all so lucky this year and people have been so generous, Amelia has been truly spoilt as have myself and Andy. My family came over for a few hours in the morning which was nice to see them. We then cooked dinner and had our first Christmas dinner just the three of us as last year I had my family round for dinner too. For the rest of the day we played with all of Amelia's new toys and pigged out on junk food. We had such a lovely day and it was nice having it at home.
On boxing day we went over to Andy's parents for another day of fun, more turkey and more presents. We had such a lovely day and it was great because the whole family were there. Amelia's cousin who is just 6 months older than Amelia was also there and it was great to see them play together more this year.
The following day Amelia and I headed over to my parents for the day for yet another Christmas dinner!! My Gran was also down from Scotland for the week so it was nice seeing her too and for her to see Amelia as the last time she saw her she was only a couple of weeks old.
She LOVES her play kitchen and I am so happy we bought it for her, she was playing with it all day long and cooking us Christmas dinner ha ha! I am so sad that Christmas is over for another year and already I'm excited for next year as it will be so much fun with Amelia being older yet again. Now I need to find room for all of her new toys!
I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas!
