Places To Go With The Kids This Winter

Winter is most definitely drawing in closer, the dark evenings, the cold mornings, heating on and bowls of tomato soup to keep warm. You may be wondering where to take the kids on cold days out other than your local play gym or where the take them on holiday this winter. Here I have put together a few ideas which will hopefully give you some ideas on what to do with your little ones.

Pottery Painting

This is especially fun for older children and painting pottery is exciting, fun, creative, inventive and suitable for everyone. At many pottery barns you can chose to pot throw and creature your own piece of pottery from scratch or you can choose a piece to paint. It is a fun day out for all the family and there are plenty of activities for everyone to enjoy.

Local Greenwood Forest Park

If you have one near you the Greenwood Forest Park is great for days out when you're stuck for ideas. There's so much to do at our local one including go carting, petting farms, shows and crafts to watch, and a large indoor play centre just to name a few. Whilst the children play, the parents can enjoy the cafe.

Winter Holidays

If you are looking to take the kids abroad this winter why not jet off to europe, there is so much to see and do and the kids won't be bored. You could take them to the alps, France, Rome, Denmark or even Italy. There's plenty of things to do in each of these countries such as going to museums, finding wood sculptures for Christmas displays/presents, skiing and horse riding.

Go Swimming

Swimming isn't only for the warmer months, you don't need to be on holiday or outside to have fun in the pool. Keep up your little ones swimming strength by taking them over the winter too.

Indoor Nature Centre

We have a local Nature Centre nearby full of reptile enclosures and insects. On a rainy day kids love looking a creepy crawlies rather them than us. You can spend hours teaching your children different bugs and reptiles.

What do you like to do with your children in the Winter? If you are looking for more things to do this Christmas take a look at this recent post of mine.
