Choosing The Right Pushchair For You

I have to admit I have a bit of an obsession with pushchairs! Just like changing bags you can never have many pushchairs when you're a mum. It all started back when I found out I was pregnant I would spend many hours a day researching into the best pushchairs out there and debating over which one to buy. I think as an expecting mum choosing the right pushchair for you and your baby can be a daunting task. You want to make sure it is suitable for your new arrival and you want it to be easy on the eye too. Many mums are influenced by celebrities and what they are currently pushing down the street.

With so many pushchairs on the market and so many celebrities influencing many expecting mums there are a few things you should think about before you hand over your cash.

1. Budget

Before you start dreaming of your little one snuggled up in the pushchair of your dreams you need to be realistic. Can you afford it? What can you afford? Do you actually need all of the accessories that come with it? There are many pushchairs out there to suit every budget you just need to research a little more to find the one that's right for you. You many want to consider purchasing a pushchair that is more durable especially if you are thinking of using it again for baby number two.

2. Your baby's need

Your babies needs will differ depending on their age. If you have a newborn baby, the pushchair you choose should have a full lie-flat unit. Alternatively you could use a carry cot that easily attaches or a baby car seat which you can clip on and off.  When your baby grows you may prefer to have your baby face you when you're out and about pushing the pushchair. Many mums prefer to keep their baby parent facing as long as possible so when buying your pushchair you will need to consider this feature.

Comfort is most probably the most important feature. You should look out for features such a padding and layers of cushioning as well as seat positioning. After all a comfy baby is a happy baby.

3. Your lifestyle

This goes without saying, if you live in the city and don't drive you will most probably want a pushchair that is easy to get around with especially on public transport. If you drive you may want a travel system pushchair which is small and compact and able to attach a car seat to. If you do a lot of shopping or walk to the shops you will want to have a large shopping basket or a pushchair which allows you to easily hang shopping bags from.

If you are looking for a pushchair why not check out your local pram shop as the majority of them have fantastic deals and I think its great giving these smaller companies your business instead of the larger ones, for example this pram shop based in Liverpool has a wide range of pushchairs to suit every need and budget.
