Last week we had a lovely surprise when the postman came by one morning with more parcels with one of them being a box of crisps. Walkers had very kindly send us three packs of crisps from their new Mighty Lights range. Not just single packets, but a multi pack of each flavour! The three flavours were Roast chicken, Lightly salted and Cheese and Onion. Even though it was only 9am i was rather hungry and could't wait to rip open a packet...or two!
Of course Amelia was on standby as she always is when there's food about and was eager to have a few nibbles herself. I don't tend to give her crisps only with the exception of quavers but seeing as these are much healthier than your average packet of crisps i thought what the heck!
I have always had an unhealthy addiction to crisps, sometimes even demolishing a multipack to myself whilst watching TV in the evening. Don't judge me - they are just too good! They are my go-to snack and always handy to have in the cupboard when you need to grab something quick to eat if you are peckish.
Walkers Mighty Lights boast to having 30% less fat than standard crisps, and are made from real potatoes with no artificial colours, MSG or preservatives as well as being a source of fibre! Walkers Mighty Lights are ridged potato crisps which i much prefer as they tend to hold their flavour better. Each pack is 25g, containing 114 calories, 4.7g of fat, 0.5g of which is saturated fat. Not only that but they are also suitable for vegetarians...even the Roasted Chicken flavour!
My favourite flavours were Roasted Chicken followed by Lightly Salted. I've never been a fan of Cheese and Onion so Andy happily tested these for me and said they were just like your usual pack of crisps however the flavour was much stronger which was good although it wasn't overpowering. Personally my favourite flavour of crisps is Ready Salted so the Lightly Salted was quickly finished by myself. Even though they tasted slightly different than your average Ready Salted packet of crisps i found it to be just as good in flavour. Amelia had a few bites of each flavour and then does what she usually does and throws them on the floor and stomps on them. Little madam. She has since then helped me eat a few crisps at lunch times along with some sandwiches.
Overall i am extremely impressed with the new Mighty Lights range from Walkers and will definitely be purchasing some on our next food shop, however i was wondering where the Salt and Vinegar flavour was? I would love to see Salt and Vinegar in there too! Perhaps that would be something to think about for the future.
Mighty Lights are now available to purchase at your local supermarket and would be perfect for the changing bag on day trips and also children's lunch boxes, so go on give them a try!
What is your favourite crisp flavour?
