The last time we went to Chester Zoo was when I was living in away in Crewe and around 30 weeks pregnant with Amelia so when we were given the opportunity to go on Sunday thanks to Matalan. We were invited along with 14 other bloggers and their families for a fun day out!
Amelia has been to the zoo once before, a local zoo near us which is rather small and doesn't really have many animals. Which was fine as Amelia was much younger so wouldn't really understand and interact with the animals. This time round Amelia was 17 months old and is interacting much more with her surroundings and is talking more in so I was intrigued as to how she would be.
We set off for the day at around 8.30am to arrive at Chester Zoo for 10am, Amelia was dressed in her new outfit from Matalan which I love! I chose a pretty top with ballerina legs and some jeggings for her outfit. Thank you Matalan! The weather was a scorcher to our surprise but who's complaining? It was such a lovely day!
When we arrived we took the opportunity to explore for a couple of hours before meeting up with everyone. We headed off to see the elephants first and then the giraffes and monkeys. Amelia was fascinated with the giraffes as they were so tall she probably thought they were like daddy. She kept pointing and talking to them it was so cute. She also loved running around, peeping over walls and stretching her legs and she definitely kept us on our toes.
After meeting up at the monkeys we then went for some lunch and tried getting Amelia off to sleep, however she didn't want to go, obviously the animals were far more interesting. So we kept her awake and went to see some more animals.
We then met up again with everyone at the penguin talk later in the afternoon for another chatter and photo opportunity, by this time Amelia had finally fallen asleep. After saying our goodbyes we made our way out as Andy was working that evening so we grabbed an ice cream and headed back to the car.
Overall we had a fantastic day and the weather was deinfitely on our side! It was great to meet some other bloggers that I haven't met before and I have found some new blogs to read also.
What's your favourite animal to see at the zoo?
Thanks again Matalan!
