So that leaves us with the living room and bedroom to decorate and I want a change. I am bored of how our decor is now so can't wait to move in and get started! I already have a few ideas in mind but have put together a little mood board of what I am thinking of achieving. The living room has been recently decorated and has a gorgeous purple and gold wallpaper pretty much similar to the one pictured above so we are keeping that. Not sure if Andy's too happy about that but I love it! So I have decided to buy wooden furniture as we already have a big wooden cabinet to work with so will go with that. I am a huger sucker for all things shabby and neutral so will be buying lots of little home furnishings.
I love the tripod lamp and would love the table and full size lamps just not too sure if that's such a good idea which Amelia's little hands as she gets into everything. The wicker log basket will look great next to the fireplace to store Amelia's toys we already have one but would like another. I love love love the knitted cushion and may just have to buy 4 of them!
I am just so happy that the living room will have laminate flooring, where we currently live the carpet is blue...yes blue! I despise it, its horrible and its so tricky to decorate a room around it and make it feel homely. Its never really felt like home. Of course we weren't allowed to change it so it had to stay put but I will be ever so glad to finally be saying good bye to it for good!
What colour theme/decor do you have in your living room?

I moved home less than a year ago, and my living room is decorated on a London Urban theme. The theme includes foxes (lampshade and pictures), London architecture (posters and prints), squirrels (door hook) and pigeons (letter rack). The main colours of the room and furniture are mainly earthy brown and beige colours. My Mum also made me some London themed cushions.
ReplyDeleteGreat ideas for décor, I really desperately need to decorate, but can never find the time!

ReplyDeleteThe theme in my living room is 'new-meets-old'. I've inherited some of my furniture from relatives so I'm a bit sentimental about it but I've also got lots of modern bits & pieces (lamps, cushions, etc) but somehow, it all kind of fits together nicely.
