Living Room Inspiration

With just under a week until we get the keys for our new house i have been frantically searching high and low for the right living room theme. I just haven't a clue how i would like to decorate just yet. You may have seen my recent post here which had more of a natural shabby chic feel to it which i also really love but i just can't decide. I am staying clear of black and white this time, especially after living with a black and white house for nearly two years now i am bored of it.

This means new furniture and new furnishings along with decorative accessories. Lately i have been loving greens, browns and creams and i really love the mood board i've put together above. I love the coffee table with wicker storage baskets underneath as this would be great for keeping things out of sight from Amelia and the door on the TV stand would be a bonus and stop Amelia from pulling everything down. Wall art is a must to make a living room yours and i think it adds warmth to the room.

When i lived on my own in my apartment a few years ago i had a lovely corner sofa which completed the room. I really think a sofa makes the room as is always a big part of the room and you can work with the colours. A small corner sofa sold at 123sofa may just be what you need to transform your living room. Even though we no longer have a corner sofa in our current house, i am complenplating purchasing one for the new house and it would fit perfectly with the living room layout there. 'Click here to visit www.123sofa.co.uk for various corner sofa's.

Do you have a colour theme for your living room? If so let me know below!

  3. We don't really have a colour scheme - it's all a bit of a mixture, but I really love the idea of red & teal colour schemes :)

  4. when I moved into my current flat it was hideously decorated in the darkest colours imaginable! My living room for some unknown reason had been painted chocolate brown.... It took me ages, and many litres of white paint to cover it, to get to a point where I could see my own theme. It's now almost complete with a mix of semi modern look (pc etc) amid a more esoteric look (candles, incence, floor cushions etc)and is pale green with dark flooring to represent earth!

  7. My living room is creams with metal and glass furniture (yes I know not very practical with little ones around) and a dark green suite. Colour on the walls is from art work (landscapes) and I have lots of foliage plants. It is a very modern apartment so this works really well

  13. I have biscuit coloured walls and the odd splash of Aubergine accesories. All the wood is oak & the sofa is brown leather, so the odd cushion, tealight holder or candle in Aubergine really stands out & adds a welcome bit of colour.

  33. Ours is boring magnolia and white with brown furniture as hubby isn't adventurous.

  34. Ours is very simple... Magnoila Walls, Cream leather sofa, biscuit carpet. I like things simple... our adventurous room is the hall way. It was previsouly painted yellow with a dream carpet! Its now magnolia with a green carpet and looks SO elegant. If you only stand at the front door you'd think we were posh ;)

  41. Designing buildings and ensuring they are safe is precisely what structural engineers do, though.

  42. Leather sofa recliners are great for large families or for smaller spaces. The end of the sofa still lies back like a recliner, but it is also part of a larger seating arrangement. If you need more seating in your living room, you can try leather sofa recliner.
