As part of the Cosatto Brand Buddy team we have been given the opportunity to test out some products over the year and Amelia and I previously reviewed the Supa Boom Bloom Pushchair and showed you how much we loved it! This past month we have been trying out the new Hug Group 123 Carseat in this beautiful Golightly design!
The Cosatto Hug is a group 1-2-3 car seat meaning it is suitable for babies weighing from 9kg right up to 36kg which is roughly 9 months right up until approx 11 years! You also have the option to fit it in the front or the back of the car depending on your preference. The seat features a 5 point harness which keeps your baby at bay. You can easily adjust the length of the strap simply by pushing the button and pulling the straps.
As you can see from the images the design is very girly, which is perfect for Amelia as it will grow with her over the next 10+ years. I wish they came in adult sizes ha! The golightly design consists of a red bow and black and white stripes along with a polka dot cushioning. I adore this design and would recommend it to any parent with a little girl. I also like the fact that it has the brand name on both sides of the seat as well as a bow too.

The car seat arrived in a bright pink box and I immediately knew what it was! Amelia helped me open the packaging and pull the car seat out. She climbed right into it as soon as I placed it on the ground and didn't want to get out. She seemed to like it which was good and I couldn't wait to get it fitted into the car later that day.
The car seat is extremely comfy and very cushioned which is great for younger children and babies as some car seats can look cheap and are usually very hard. However not a problem with the Hug, Amelia has a comfortable journey where ever we go. The whole car seat is padded even the shoulder straps which is fantastic!
Getting the car seat into the car was pretty straight forward although it was different that our previous car seat so I did have to look at the instructions for a bit of help. There's even a step by step guide on both sides of the car seat for extra help which I think is great especially if someone else is going to be using the car seat. To keep the seat in place you need to slot two poles into the top which can be a pain as you have to do it before you place the little one in the seat as it's quiet hard to see. This is especially hard if you have a sleeping baby and you wish to carry the car seat into the house as you can't undo the flap easily without undoing the back of the seat. As with our old car seat we could easily do this and Amelia would stay asleep. Other than that there's no problem with it at all.
I like to have the seat in the recline position to be able to fit it in as there is more room to move the straps around and get your hand through the back. As you can see you slot it through the red clips and then it goes behind a flap that comes out. This clips back in place and is very secure. The top part of the seat belt goes through the upper clip on the other side of the seat which is different than our previous seat but I find this just as easy to secure. You can then place the seat back into position if you wish or leave it in recline.
Amelia loves sitting in her car seat. She's never had a problem with being in the car and never really gets fussy. She falls asleep easily and seems to be comfortable in it. The head rest allows her to rest her head and not sit with it slouched down. I find the car seat to be very stable and sturdy which is what I always ensure when fitting it in as I get paranoid. We have also tried it in the front of the car as well as the back however we have decided to have her in the back of the car although it is perfectly fine in the front too if you did want to have your little one in the front with you.
The Cosatto Hug 1-2-3- car seat in Golightly retails at £220 and comes complete with a brilliant 4 year guarantee (UK and Ireland only) and can be purchased from Cosatto’s online store. If you aren't too fond of the girly design, Cosatto also have the All star design and many others too!
Overall we love our new car seat and have enjoyed trying out the new range from Cosatto. I would highly reccommend this car seat if you are after a safe, comfortable ride for your little one. Amelia loves sitting in it and looking out of the window and dancing along to music.
