Exploring The Garden

Unless you've been living under a rock or hibernating recently you will know that we have been having a heat wave here in the UK! Its been far too hot for Amelia to sleep and she even woke up sick the other night. Her gro-egg was showing 29 (°C) which is crazy! I don't think it would have made much difference to sleep in the garden to be honest.

We got up early on Monday morning as Andy had gone to work and the sun was shining into the bedroom. I had done all the housework by 9am which is shocking for me as that's the time we usually get up or are getting dressed for the day. We headed out into the garden for a bit of exploring before it got too hot at midday. Amelia loved roaming around and getting into everything! She has an obsession with playing with the pebbles and kept putting them into the hole at the bottom of the plant pot. At least that kept her quiet for a while so I could catch some sun!

Later on that afternoon we headed over to my parent's house for a BBQ which was yummy! Amelia had fun running around as they have a lot of land which is great! She definitely slept well when we got back!

How have you been enjoying this glorious sunny weather?

  2. The weathers been beautiful! Lets hope it lasts.

John loves exploring our garden too. I don't take him out into it too much as being a shared garden, I always feel awkward if our neighbours are out too. Much easier to let him run riot on the beach!

But what is it with toddlers and stones? John loves collecting them when we're out and throws them into the drains.

  14. Bless her! We have to enjoy the sun while it lasts! I wish my kids would go out our back garden, but they prefer to play in their nans (due to the trampoline and swimming pool, and the fact that the big dog next door to us isn't next door to nans!).

  17. :( Poor Amelia. We had a surprise week of beautiful 80ish (°F) last week, but now it's back up to it's dreadful high 90's -100's. It keeps Fern and I inside most of the day, sadly. :( I hope your weather subdues a bit for you sweet girls.

  36. This must be a toddler's first thing playin with the pebbles they are just right for small hands. My grand daughter Macey (2yrs) likes transporting them all over the garden. Like you I have been sitting out early morning having coffee and watching Macey (untidy grandad's garden, easily fixed afterwards with a quick sweep) This weather is just bliss!
