Amelia's Nursery - Butterfly Shabby Chic Inspired

Since recently updating Amelia's Nursery I have had so many questions on where I bought specific items and for a room tour so here you go! I wanted to decorate her nursery so it would be easier to convert into a toddler room later on this year. I had a lot of fun re-decorating her nursery and bought a number of items whilst doing the Money Supermarket Challenge where I was given £50 to improve a room in the house. Incase you are wondering, there's only images from one half of the room as the other side is pretty boring, just the door and a canvas wardrobe. I will be buying new furniture for her toddler room, when we decide its time. I will be doing an updated post when I convert her Nursery into a toddler room but for now this is how it's looking.

I decided to go for a more girly theme than before, I have no idea why but I had painted her Nursery grey and it made the room feel and look smaller which was a big mistake. So I opted for lighter colours and fell in love with the shabby chic theme. I was provided with some paint from the lovely people over at Nursery Paint and chose a lilac colour called Dolly Frock which I love and Milk Time which was a pale white.

Once I had a theme and colour in mind I knew what items I wanted to buy for her room. I love all things floral and shabby chic so went with that. I bought this lovely floral fabric letter A from The Joy Store which fits so well with the room I love it! I then went with the floral colours and bought a sheet of fabric from ebay to make a cot guard to hide all of Amelia teeth marks! I also used the remaining fabric to make a valance for the cot to hide everything underneath.

The birdcage may be a bit random but I love it! I think it gives the room a more sophisticated look and will be great for her toddler room and when she is older. I didn't realise how big it was until it arrived, but it fits nicely on top of the unit.

I love this part of the room, its so girly but not pink which is great as I'm not too fond of pink to be honest. The lilac and white isn't babyish and will grow well with Amelia over the years. The butterfly stickers go perfectly with the heart wall art which was a bargain at only £2.99! The stickers are from Stickerscape and add a bit of decor to the wall. Originally I hadn't thought of incorporating butterflies into the room but it actually goes quite well and allows me to add more butterfly items or floral over the years.

I love this bunting! It was sent to us along with a few other items for Amelia from The Arty Apple who sell some adorable personalised baby bits you must check them out! I'm not too sure where exactly to hang it yet but for now its above the cot.

Items featured in Amelia's Nursery are listed below;
