As some of you may know I am attending Brit Mums Live next week and I can't wait! I have never been to a blogging event before so this will be my first one. Of course I'm both nervous and excited! I have put together a little checklist of the essentials you may want to bring with you in your bag. These are just some of the bits I am bringing, of course they are not all essentials but thought it would be good to share incase you are going to a blog event soon too! If you were to ask me what I will be wearing, that is whole other story! I have no idea yet! Any suggestions would be appreciated.
Here's what I will be bringing in my bloggers bag for the event:
Large bag - preferably a weekend bag if it is a two day event you will need outfit choices and if you are going out at night don't forget a nice outfit. For the event day take along a decent size hand bag...I've heard you may end up leaving with your hands full.
A notepad and pens - You never know who's number you may want to exchange especially if your phone dies on you. Also there are many workshops to go along to with tons of great info you may want to jot down so you don't forget.
Business cards and Media Kit if you wish - Not both necesary however I am taking along some business cards to exchange and if any companies ask me for one at least I will have some handy instead of writing down my contact details. I have also bought a little purse wallet to carry them around in.
Laptop, iPad or tablet if you have one and want to catch up on some late night blogging or even chat on Twitter or Facebook after a long day.
Smartphone to message all the lovely people you will be meeting and to keep up to date with events on Twitter throughout the day.
Purse - You may want to buy something and will kick yourself in the teeth if you left all your money back at home or in your hotel room. You may even all meet up for dinner or drinks in the evening too.
USB pen - You never know when it may come in handy!
Charger - We don't want your laptop or phone dying on you when you need it the most. Also if you are sharing a room a multiple charger may be of good use.
Hand sanatiser - You never know what germs are about especially if you are using public transport.
Camera - Don't forget your camera, you will regret it otherwise. Of course you will want some pretty pictures for a new blog post when you get home. You may even want to get some photo's with your new friends!
Snacks - A workshop may run over, you may be chatting away and loose track of time. Don't let hunger get the better of you. Keep some snacks handy in your bag maybe some fruit or a chocolate bar and don't forget a bottle or water or pop.
Now over to you... What will you be bringing in your bag? Or do you have any suggestions? I will be posting a post after I come back with some advice for first time blog events from my experience.
