MagicBed Travel Cot Review

When going on holiday with young babies and children you want to make it as stress free as possible. A travel cot is an essential item for many parents. However they are usually very big and heavy, impossible to fold and take up a lot of room as luggage. Last month we were very kindly sent the MagicBed travel cot from Magicbed and couldn't wait for it to arrive. Magicbed have designed a pop-up travel cot that has been developed by parents, for parents and following the huge success of its launch in France last year, it has now landed in the UK.

When the travel cot arrived I was so excited to get it open and was surprised at how light it actually was. I was very impressed with how well it fits in the carry bag too. Inside the carry bag is the travel cot itself, a self inflating mattress and a fleece sheet. I love the pattern of the magicbed, so fresh and colourful. Makes a change from a plain colour and brightens up the room.

The magic bed is easy to open and it pops up in a matter of seconds and closes just as easy. With only a quick fold whilst holding it between your legs and fasten it with the elastic attached it will fit straight back into the carry bag. Setting the mattress up takes no time at all. All you are required to do is undo the strap from around the cot and it instantly pops open, slide the mattes in the hidden slot at the bottom of the cot and you are good to go! You can also fit the sheet inside to make it extra comfy which velcro's in easily.

The cot also has a rather handy pocket on the side of the cot for your mobile phone or iPod which is great as you can put some music on for the little one to listen to while napping or even a white noise app.

Surprisingly the magicbed is reasonably light weighing at only 3.4kg and light enough to carry around on your shoulder so I'd imagine it would be fine to take on public transport as it is thin too. The magicbed can be easily stored when not in use. We slide ours under Amelia's cot or put it under the stairs. It doesn't take up any room at all!

The travel cot also comes in very handy for play time, I just stick Amelia in it and a few toys and she's happy just sitting there playing away and I know she can't get out or hurt herself. There's plenty of room for growth as the magicbed is pretty large. Its brilliant if you need to get some house work done or just want 5 minutes to yourself on the sofa. I usually let Amelia nap in it in the day time as it's big enough for me to fit in too and easier for me to climb out once she's fallen asleep than the cot upstairs. The mattress is actually pretty comfy, and Amelia sleeps for hours!

The magicbed is very strong from what I have seen this past month. Amelia likes to pull on it and fall backwards as she thinks its funny and more than a few times I've thought she was going to break it but thankfully it's still standing up. Even though it's put together with a few plastic poles, they are super sturdy.

Overall the magicbed is quite simply magical! We have been using it daily and absolutely love it!  I would highly recommend the magicbed to every parent, I have no idea why everyone doesn't already own one they are quite simply amazing! You can even use it outside if the weather is nice and there are sun canopy's available to purchase too. We actually used it outdoors the other week when the weather was nice and it was great for Amelia to get some fresh air. We are going to London tomorrow for a mini holiday and the magicbed will be coming with us! I will hopefully update you after we come back on how easy it was to use in a hotel and travelling on a train with. I also have a little video to come soon too so keep an eye out for that!

The magicbed is available in a range of colours, I chose the spotted pink however they all look really nice. It is very reasonably priced at £109, definitely worth every penny. You can also purchase a smaller one at £69.

The lovely people at Magicbed have offered to give you my readers a promotional code to get 20% off your very own travel cot with the code MAGICAMELIA. The offer is only available for 2 weeks so don't miss out!

You can find out more about the magicbed on their website or by visiting the Facebook and Twitter pages.

*We were sent the magicbed free of charge for the purpose of this review but all opinions are my own.

  64. Here's my response, and I welcome any outside input that could help Lauren figure out these issues. I could especially use some help on the height of food dishes — I've heard some people say a raised bowl reduces a dog's chance of bloat and others say exactly the opposite. I'm not honestly sure what the correct answer is, so I welcome some insight on that matter.
