Review: Num Num Baby Dips - A Baby's First Step To Self-feeding!

When I was recently contacted by Num Num to try out their new range of Baby Dips, I jumped at the chance. Amelia can be rather fussy when it comes down to eating. Some days she will happily sit there and feed her self and other days she will much rather me feed her off the spoon when she is being lazy.

"The NumNum is the first dipper of its kind, NumNum is a baby's first step to self-feeding. The innovative design makes it easier to use than an ordinary baby spoon because there is no right or wrong way to hold it. Which means less mess for parents while your baby develops the fine motor skills necessary to move on to using a spoon."

When the NumNum's arrived I was rather impressed with the packaging and couldn't wait to get using them. We headed to the kitchen and I made up some porridge for Amelia. She never usually eats porridge as with a normal baby spoon she will just throw it everywhere and depending on what mood she is in she may not even eat it at all so I usually just opt for toast or fruit.

I opted for the orange NumNum for this task as porridge is quite lumpy and thick the head on this is channeled and perfect for thicker foods. It claims to "capture and hold thicker first foods." Instantly I was shocked that as soon as I passed her the NumNum she put it straight to her mouth and the spoonful of porridge was gone immediately. I was amazed at how the porridge stayed in the NumNum, it's a flat head not rounded so I was really impressed at how it stayed there. Not a drop fell out and there was surprisingly not much mess!

The handle is contoured which is designed to comfortably and securely fit a baby's hand. I found that Amelia had no problem holding the NumNum and it wasn't slippery at all. I usually find with some spoons they don't have a grip on the handle which means baby usually throws the spoon on the floor.

Even though Amelia is now one, these are great to dip in yogurts and other textures for her to get used to them. These would be perfect for the weaning stage at around 6 months and I really wish I had found out about these sooner when Amelia was first trying out new foods, this would have been a life saver and Amelia may have been eating better. The Num Num's are the perfect size as they fit neatly in a pocket they don't take up any room at all and are great for throwing in the changing bag for days out.

I would highly recommend these to any parent having trouble with their little ones eating off a spoon or if you are about to start weaning these would be perfect to get used to.

You can find NumNum here and also purchase your own for $9.99 here. Also follow NumNum on Facebook and Twitter for their latest updates.

    1. Haha!! Amelia's like that she would just throw the spoons if I have them to her but she seems to use these pretty well and the food doesn't fall everywhere x
