A little piece of Paradise

It’s nearly summer and time to think about the yearly getaway somewhere sunny! Tenerife is a popular choice and has been for years, thanks to its warm weather, sandy beaches, fabulous restaurants and family-friendly appeal. It’s also a top choice for holidaymakers looking for somewhere with a busy and bustling nightlife, with plenty of great bars and nightclubs to drink sangria and dance the night away at.

So, where to stay in Tenerife? Although Play Des Las Americas is perhaps the most well-known of Tenerife’s resorts, Los Cristianos is a wonderful alternative and well worth considering for your next break. The resort of Los Cristianos has plenty to offer whether you’re after a family holiday resort, a romantic couple’s getaway or a fun packed break with a group of mates. The beautiful man-made beaches are ideal for sunbathing and the clear blue waters of the Mediterranean Sea are perfect for snorkelling, diving or just for enjoying a paddle.

The area manages to keep hold of its traditional, fishing port feel while also boasting newly renovated buildings, boulevards and squares catering excellently for holidaymakers and tourists. The town centre is less manic than Play Des Las America whilst still providing lots of shopping and eating opportunities, and is centred on the town’s church. If you’ve got the time, you can even walk all the way from Los Cristianos to Playa Des Las Americas along the promenade if you like!

When you stay in Los Cristianos, be sure to visit the tiny but beautiful village of Masca on one of the days. This small mountain village is home to a miniscule 80 inhabitants! Los Cristianos provides the ideal base for holidaymakers taking a day trip to the village, which lies at the foot of the Teno Mountains at an altitude of 600m and whose houses are built right onto the mountain slope.

If you’re after recommendations of specific places to stay at here, a top hotel to stay at in Los Cristianos is Paradise Park Tenerife, with its panoramic views and rooftop pool making it a recommended choice for all types of holidaymakers. The hotel’s large gardens sitting on top of a small hill give fantastic views across several of the area’s beaches, making it feel wonderfully luxurious and relaxing, and the hotel has all of the services and amenities you’d expect from a four star accommodation.

Have you been to Tenerife before?
