We took Amelia on her first holiday in November last year. She had just turned 6 months old which at the time we thought was a great age! Don't get me wrong it was lovely to take her on holiday at that age as she could sit up, and was able to play on her own however it would have been nice to take her around this age now where she is walking and running about. We won't be able to go on holiday until later this year or early next year I reckon so she will be closer to two then which will also be great.
We had such a great time on holiday, it was a nice break especially after being stuck in the house for the previous 6 months. I really would like to go to the Caribbean, my parents took us quite a few times when we were younger and it was such a fantastic holiday each year. I would love for Andy and Amelia to experience it too. Being abroad always makes you feel so much happier and healthier, I don't know why but it does. At least this time I will be more prepared for going away, last time I forgot a few things such as some of Amelia's baby food, a swim costume and my reading glasses - next time I think I will have to buy some prescription sunglasses. I don't need glasses all the time but when on the laptop or reading I tend to squint a lot. These would have been so handy! It must have been my mummy brain!
I can't wait to take Amelia on her next holiday and many more to come! I can't wait to build sandcastles on the beach and swim in the sea with her. We are going to London in June just for a mini break so that shall be nice too.
At what age did you or will you be taking your children on holiday?
