Post Baby Spring/Summer Style!

1 / 2 / 3 / 4 / 5 / 6 / 7

Ever since Amelia was born I think I have only recently bought myself some new clothes...yes 11 months after having her! My number one priority has always been to ensure she has toys and clothes first so I tend to forget about little ole me. When out shopping, the first place I go to in the store is the baby clothing department! I'd much rather buy Amelia cute clothes than myself...plus they are cheaper!

So when it comes to me I have just been wearing the same old clothes I've had ever since I was pregnant and this month it's time to treat myself to some new clothes! Just because I'm a mum now doesn't mean I can't flaunt my body. I don't mean go around wearing nothing but a bikini. But perhaps wear a maxi skirt, a pair of cute hot pants or a dress every once in a while. I am a jeans kinda girl. I hate getting my legs out unless it's scorching hot outside or I'm abroad and seeing as none of these are on the cards for a while it looks like I'll be sticking to my leggings or skinny jeans for a while longer.

However as soon as summer hits I will be getting out the denim shorts, maxi dresses and tank tops. I don't really have much fashion sense if I'm honest. If I see something I like, I'll buy it. I love the playsuit above and also the floral hot pants. I really like floral colours and pastels, I always used to stick with neutral colours such as cream, grey and black but I am starting to venture out a bit. As we aren't going away this year I won't be buying a ton of holiday clothes so I think I'll just buy a few new items every now and again to brighten up my wardrobe. This year I am making it my mission to buy some new clothes for myself and not look like a 1980s mum.

How do you stay fashionable after having a baby?

  1. Going back to work allowed me to stay current on my clothes/fashion w/my daughter, but now with my youngest I've stayed at home and I'm still in sweat pants (and he's 5). Def. time to go shopping. Your choices here are cute!
