A year ago today you were brought into this world at 2 eighteen in the morning, you share the same birthday as your Nana. I remember the day before you were born so vivid, we went to the hospital to be induced on the morning of the 21st. We were both so excited yet nervous to meet you. I had no idea what to expect, I had so many feelings running through my head that morning it's unreal. I remember thinking so many things, but none of them would prepare me for what was actually going to happen. I hadn't been to any antenatal classes, not really researched into anything at all. But that was all ok, because we picked up on everything as we went along. After being induced later that afternoon, I went into active labour and it all happened pretty quick. I was then rushed to the labour ward and you were born early Sunday morning at 2.18am on the 22nd.
You still have 8 teeth same as the past few months. No more have come through yet, but I'm pretty sure your molars will be coming in soon. We haven't had you weighed but I'm guessing you are anywhere between 21lb and 23lbs. You are still quite petite which is surprising seeing as you were such a big baby, you seem to have evened out. Your hair has grown even more this past month, finally! I have been waiting for months for it to grow so I can brush it and put little hair bows in it, still can't to this day but hopefully by the time you are two ha ha!
You love running around, last month even though you could walk you would still crawl every now and again. Now all you do is walk every where. You have given up on crawling all together and run/walk around. I love it! It's so funny to see you run into things and especially when you are hyper and run around like a little loony!
You are finally eating so much better. Instead of playing with your food and throwing it all on the floor no matter what we'd give you, you now eat it. I think since I've been back at work and Nana and daddy have been looking after you and feeding you, you have realised that is what you have to eat. It's been going well and you eat a thousand times better. We are still working on getting you to drink out of the bottle, you do take a few sips now and again so we are getting somewhere at least.
Sleep wise, you sleep really well now. No more waking up in the middle of the night, no more fussing like crazy before bed. You go to sleep around 10-11pm give or take and wake up at 8-9am. Which is much better than previously. Thank god! You still nurse to sleep but that's okay. Nap times are less of a hassle too. You tend to fall asleep in your jumperoo and sleep for about an hour to two hours at a time. Sometimes we put you in the swing but it doesn't really swing anymore ha! I just wish you would learn that it is okay to sleep in your cot and it's a place to sleep!
I guess we have made it to 1 year of breastfeeding! WOW! I can't believe it especially seeing as I had no idea what I was going to do before you were born. It is such an achievement and I have enjoyed it so much.
This past year has been the most joyful and happiest year of my life! I've had the best year ever and if I could do it all over again I would in an instance. I look forward to seeing what the next year brings. I can't wait to watch you grow into a little lady, take you to the zoo, go shopping, go to the beach in the summer, go on holiday again, the list is endless!
I love you forever and ever.
Happy Birthday sweetie pie!
Love Mummy (& Daddy)
