Can't afford to Move? Why Not Transform Your Existing Home Instead!

I would love to move and own our own home. We are currently renting, which isn't bad we love our home and the area it is in however it's never enough is it. I would love to own our own home so I could decorate how I'd like and have full content to do what ever I wish.

But for now it doesn't look like we will be able to move for some time or even own our own home for some time due to the ever increasing house prices! So I guess I will have to made do with what we already have. Having a house make over can be a great way to transform your existing house especially if you are getting bored of it.

Recently I have been browsing the home sections online and in store for wallpaper designs, paint, decor and home furnishings. I love to picture things in my head but they never turn out how I want them.

Here are some suggestions on how you could transform your existing home if you can't afford to move.

- Buy some storage baskets and and decorate them. By adding some ribbon or bows. Storage baskets can be pretty and displayed around the house to keep clutter in.

- Redecorate - Redecorating can put a smile on your face and make your home look and feel brand new. If you can't buy a new home why not make it feel like you have a new home! Buy some new wallpaper, paint the master bedroom, or even change the bathroom around. The list is endless.

- Build a new stairway - Sometimes is the small things you transform that make a world of difference. Having a new stairway can certainly brighten up your home. Richard Burbidge sell a fantastic range of new stairways. What about a Classic Stair Balustrade that would suit any home modern or traditional. I'd love to have a contemporary stair way in our house to make our hallway more elegant.

- Build a conservatory or extension. Sometimes this can be a simple explanation and can make your home much bigger!

- Remove clutter - Sometimes have a clear out can make your home feel and look refreshing and new. Have you got hundreds of old bits and bobs lying around, have a car boot sale, take them to the local charity shop there are many ways you could de-clutter your home.

- Change the curtains, cushion covers, throws and rugs. This is a great way to have a change around and to also make your home feel new again. I love buying new cushions and throws and changing the living room around every once in a while.

What ideas do you have to transform your existing home? I'd love to hear them.

  3. Fab ideas lovely, we would love to be homeowners but would not be able to afford that step on the ladder anytime soon. We're renting at the mo and the house is absolutely perfect but it's very restrictive not being able to decorate it how you want etc. so totally agree with everything you've said above xxx

  11. Extraordinary service! And what a timing for the delivery! I am really glad that I chose them for getting the boxes. I would suggest moving storage containers to everyone.
