Amelia's Cake Smash Session

The other day I finally got round to making Amelia's giant cupcake for her cake smash. I decided to do a test run and well lets put it this way the cake wasn't edible and I wouldn't give it to my dog let alone a baby so I had to wait until Friday to give it another go and try again. This time the cake turned out much better so I decided to just go for it! I am not at all any good in the kitchen let alone baking so I have never baked or iced a cake before so please don't laugh at my attempt (even though I did!).

Amelia hasn't been herself lately, especially with a rash that has appeared out of no where so after the cake was ready I stupidly decided to go ahead with the cake smash anyways even though Amelia had been up since 8am and it was then nearly 2pm and she hadn't yet slept. She hated it! She wouldn't go anywhere near the cake and every time I tried giving her some she would cry, scream and run off. A baby who didn't want to get messy? And wouldn't eat cake! What?! Well eventually after half an hour of trying to force feed her the icing she finally got into it a bit more. Unfortunately there are no face in cake pictures like I had hoped for but they aren't as bad as I had initially thought. So here you go here's a cake smash overload ha ha ha!

  3. This is so gorgeous. I attempted a cake smash with a rainbow cake when my little boy turned one. I was so excited for it, but I didn't consider the fact that he might not actually want to smash the cake, he just sat and ate it really cleanly. I'm hoping my little girl will be more up for some proper cake smashing when she turns one in September. x

  20. If my wife caught me giving our baby one of these I would be for the high jump and put in the dog house for an indefinite stay. I could wolf a cake down myself though.
