Letters To Amelia: 10 months

Happy 10 months Amelia! I am a little late writing this letter as you turned 10 months last Friday. Yikes! Only two months until you are one!! I think this past month we have seen the most change in you. I know I say that every month but it's true. You are doing so much more now, you brighten up my day - everyday. We had your 9 month development check up last week and you were 20lb 13oz and 75cm long! You are growing so fast. You are in the 99th percentile for your height according to the health visitor so we think you will be tall like Daddy. You are right on track with your weight too. You are doing everything you should be and are actually ahead on the charts for development.

You are still nursing which is going well. However you do now take a bottle (Tommee Tippee Wide Neck) of juice. Still not milk but it's an improvement. You have been going to bed earlier than before, which is great! I finally mastered the 8am wake ups to manage to get you down to sleep for 10pm instead of 2am. Which I am so thankful for. Next mission is to get you down for 8pm and to sleep through the night!

You eat toast and yogurt for breakfast, have some fruit and half a pouch of baby food or some vegetables for lunch and then for dinner you have some vegetable and the rest of the pouch if you're not being fussy. Some days you won't eat all of this, it's usually play it by ear.

You love bath time, and especially on daddy's days off he will sit and play with you. You just don't want to get out and always have to bring your rubber duck with you when getting out the bath.

You have taken even more steps this month! Last month you were standing by yourself and had taken a step or two but now you have taken 10-15 steps! You walked from the coffee table to the TV the other day your daddy and I were amazed!! You do something new every day and I can't believe how much you are growing and changing. Your hair has grown so much this past month, I was looking back at photo's and videos and couldn't believe how little hair you had. But now you have more, I can't wait to put it in pigtails and brush it every day.

You have 8 teeth now, 4 top, 4 bottom. After your two bottom had been around since 5-6 months last month you got your 4 top teeth and this past week your other two bottom ones have appeared. It's so funny to see you with more teeth. You love to bite me too!

I am planning your birthday now and can't wait, I know you won't remember it but I will and I can't wait to show you photo's in years to come. It's so much fun as I'm making a lot of the decorations myself. Mummy has been busy lately with photo shoots and I can't wait to do your 1 year photo's and cake smash too!

I think I will continue to do these monthly letters up until your 2nd birthday and then only update when needed. It has been so much fun these past 10 months and being able to look back on them to see how you have been developing into the little character that you are. Until next month...

All my love,
Mum

  2. Happy 10 months! My daughter will be 10 months on March 12! The letters are so sweet. I'm going to steal your idea and start writing to my baby. :)

I'm still getting mine down between 10pm and 12am. She's still nursing and isn't sleeping through the night. So I know how you feel. I think it has to do with nursing. I believe they like the closeness they feel and they miss it when they wake up alone at night.

Keep up the good work. She's beautiful!
