1st Birthday Planning

With only two yes TWO months to go until Amelia's 1st birthday I am starting to pull my hair out. I have been planning (in my head) and pinning like crazy over the past few months ideas of what to do and I think I have finally decided on a theme! Phew! We won't be having a big party as we don't have a big family, but a get together at our house with close family and friends will definitely be on the cards. Even though it won't be a big party, I still want to decorate and go all out! So I have been buying like crazy and making party decorations. I will share with you some tutorials over the next two months and of course will share the overall theme after her birthday. I am so excited!!

So unless you've been living under a rock recently you will all know about Pinterest! I have been pinning away like crazy lately and decided to create a mood board and share my ideas with you. This isn't the theme I am doing but I have got a few ideas from these images.

Individual images & sources can be found here
Now I need to crack on and finish her invitations so we actually have some guests and finish making some other bits and pieces. I have ordered her cake and smash cake, birthday outfit and am making pretty much everything else. I just need to crack on and make a list otherwise I'm bound to forget something. I can't believe Amelia will be 1 in just under 2 months! Crazy!

Keep an eye out for tutorials coming soon!

  1. I'm also considering the cake smash. I've decided to do my own cake (crazy maybe?) so if it goes wrong ive got an excuse to have the shoot right? ;) ... Cant wait to see your pictures! Rio's the same age so it nice watching them both grow together

  2. My baby girl isn't 1 until September but I'm already starting to think of ideas, so I'll be following your party posts for some more inspiration.
When my little boy turned one we had a rainbow themed party (very much inspired by Pinterest) which was really fun, but I want to do a different theme for the little lady. But I'm not a big fan of pink so it could prove tricky! X

  3. Looks like it's going to be wonderful. Just don't forget that you shouldn't stress or fret over it. Amelia won't remember, she'll only see pictures later in years. So have fun and don't worry.

Hope you can stop by and check out my 30 during 30 list: http://msmorgansrealitycheck.blogspot.com/2013/02/30-during-30.html

  4. I have 5 weeks till Emma turns 1. We are planning a Sofia the First birthday. I love your ideas for it though. I should have gone more simple but since it's at a restaurant it's not too bad. I only need to decorate with balloons and a couple of things.

  5. Don't forget to put down a garbage bag under her high chair when she gets her smash cake. Trust, me, frosting colors do not come out of carpet.

Anyway, I'm a new follower from the Monday Mom Mingle. Come follow me back. http://www.jenstangledthreads.com

  10. Sooo adorable! I love the decorations and her outfit! Remember special events like birthdays by giving the adults a gift they will enjoy just as much as Amelia! Perhaps custom cigars!

  13. Love the pictures! We made the pink popcorn for my daughter's second birthday; she had a flamingo themed party. I'm in the process of planning a party for her 3rd birthday now; she wants a strawberry theme.

Following from GFC Hop. Have a great week!
