5 Months Post Partum & Belly Shot

This video includes Amelia's 5 month update which you can read about here

Amelia is now 5 month old which means I am 5 months post partum and finally feeling 100 %. My back doesn't hurt anymore from the way I had been sleeping for the past 5 months, I am starting to exercise this week in preparation for holiday and eating healthier. It's only taken my five months but I had a rough pregnancy and birth so wanted to take things easy afterwards. My iron levels seem to have improved also, however I do occasionally feel light headed but no where near as bad as before.

I am now 7st 7lbs (105lb) which is slightly more than what I was pre pregnancy. I gained a fair bit of weight whilst pregnant but only put it on my belly and went up to 8st 9lbs at the most. A few days after giving birth I was back down to 7st 12lb. I don't really want to loose and weight however I would like to tone up.

I didn't get any stretch marks at all...which is a surprise seeing as my stomach couldn't stretch any more if it tried. It looked like I had a huge watermelon or two under my shirt. I am glad I didn't get any though. I still have the linea nigra on my belly which is quiet faint now.

I have made it to 5 months breastfeeding! Which is a huge accomplishment for me as I didn't even expect to before giving birth. Apparently you can burn around 500 calories a day doing so, so that's probably why I haven't put weight back on however eating tons of junk food doesn't help.

But overall I am happy with my progress. Still a while off getting back into shape but we are slowly getting there. I will continue to do the monthly update videos for both Amelia and myself until she turns 1.

Have a nice day!

  1. WOW Kerry that is great!! Good for you! I'm still working on the toning...and I suppose losing a bit of weight! It is incredible what our body goes through during pregnancy isn't it.
