We woke up early on Thursday morning and the sun was shining so we decided we didn't want to waste the day. We were already going swimming in the morning (will do separate post) then I took her to baby group at lunch time but we haven't had a summer here at all this year. Typical British weather!
Anyways, it was 4pm and still scorching hot outside so we packed the car, got Amelia ready and drove twenty minutes down to the beach. Of course Amelia was flat out when we arrived so we got the pram out and walked along the pavement at the top of the beach, it goes on for miles! The beach was packed! Car parks were full to the brim. We stopped off to get a drink then laid down on some grass as didn't want to take the pram down in the sand and pebbles. Amelia finally woke up, so I fed her and we played for a bit. Around 6 o clock we decided to head back to the car and get the bjorn so we could carry her down to the sea. It wasn't as busy where we had walked to as if was further along the beach.
She loved it and behaved so well not fussing once! Considering the heat, but this time we were well prepared with sunscreen, sun hat, glasses and parasol to shade her from the sun. We dipped her feet in the sea and she seemed to be enjoying it, she was too busy staring at the waves to pay us any attention. It was still really sunny at this point but not as hot as it would have been earlier so I think it was the perfect time to go down. I'd love to go back sometime when the sun is setting, that would be a lovely walk. We had a lovely afternoon laying out in the sun and catching some rays. I wonder how long this weather will last...
Sorry for the photo overload but I couldn't resist!
