Letters to Amelia #1

Dear Little Lady!

As I type this, you are still in mummy's belly and are due to arrive into this world in just two days. I’ve been searching for ways to talk to you and tell you the story of how you grew up and nothing I come up with seems significant or important enough. While this blog will be a mix of my journey to parenthood, our life events and your milestones, I still feel there’s something missing. Something that is coming from deep within my heart, that makes it so easy to write and express my feelings about being your mummy. And what I realised is that what’s missing is me talking directly to you, so that some day when I am not even there, you could read these words and know your mum loved you and did everything to ensure the best life for you.
So I’d like to start Letters to Amelia, as a way of talking to you through time. Maybe you will be able to go back to these when you have children of your own, when you’d be able to relate better. I hope you will enjoy reading back on this blog, laughing at all of the photos and maybe someday you will see why I decided to document your life.
We can't wait to meet you.
All my love, Mum x

  1. So sweet! Amelia will love reading these letters when she gets older (and even more once she has babies of her own and can relate!).

  3. Very sweet! I've come to realize just how quickly the time passes. I can remember waiting for my oldest to be born and every day between then and now. He is 20 now and falling in love. It is a beautiful thing to see. I'm proud to know that I was the one who taught him to love so deeply by sharing my love for him. Enjoy every day with your beautiful daughter and may you always have more good days than bad days. Now, that I'm a Mom of 4 I truly understand that some things just don't matter nearly as much as spending time with my family. Thanks for sharing this post again.

  5. Regardless I feel there's something missing. Something that is originating from profound inside my heart, that makes it so natural to compose and express my emotions about being your mummy. What's more, what I understood is that what's missing is me talking specifically to you, with the goal that sometime when I am not even there, you could read these words and know your mum adored you and did everything to guarantee the best life for you.
